RESIN CASTING SERVICE
I am now offering a resin casting service for those who are interested in reproducing their own custom sculpts.
I will only accept models that you own the full rights to, I will not recast items made by other companies. That means if you have an item made by a miniatures company (even if it's been modified) I cannot accept it for casting. The same applies to if a portion of the work is not your own, for example you did a model that is all your own except it uses a plastic skull from another company's line. Likewise I cannot reproduce any items which include iconry or trademarks owned by another company, so no imperial eagles, khador stars, etc.
What I am able to cast are items that you have scratchbuilt or had printed via 3d prototyping. (& own the rights to)
In order to acheive best results they need to be placed under pressure (60PSI) so the models need to be solid. Internal hollow spaces can cause the model to break. I can model hollow parts but will need to know in advance.
In general items made from styrene, brass rod, greenstuff, sculpty, epoxy sculpt, and fimo are all perfectly acceptable.
Items made from cardboard, cardstock, and balsa wood are too fragile and moisture sensitive. I cannot accept those items as they might be damaged in the molding process.
Costs will depend on the size and complexity of the model.
Creating the molds for a sprue of 28mm scaled weapons might cost $50-$75. The molds for a 28mm infantry model would likely run between $100-$150. Large models or multipart models will vary depending on the size and how many molds are needed for the piece.
Casting costs are determined by the volume of resin used and total number of copies you request.
For a very basic ball park figure . A sprue of 28mm heads for example would likely have 5-10 heads on it and probably cost about $3 per sprue. A 28mm infantry figure might cost $5-$10 depending on it 's single part or has seperate weapons & arms.
(This is just a very basic example, every project is differant and I won't know exact costs until I get a chance to review the models.)
There are no minimum order sizes, I can accommodate casting anything from a single model to hundreds of copies.
(Due to the cost of mold creation it's fairly cost prohibitive to do cast just a single model, so it's best to do a run of at least a dozen or more castings. Although if you want just a single copy made I'll gladly do it)
If you are interested in having something molded and cast please send any inquires to paulsongames@hotmail.com with a brief description of what you are looking to have done & aproximate number of copies you'd be wanting to have done.
