I've been feeling the itch to do another stand alone model. I comissioned some concept art for a mecha robot from David White. He has some great mech designs and has done tons of work for the Battletech line as well as some work with Transformers and a number of comics. www.mechazone.com is his website, any fan of big stompy robots should check it out. I'm a fan of his Mech Zone books and give a thumbs up to anyone considering picking up a copy. He's got some really slick looking artwork.
Here's the piece he did for me which I'm in the process of modelling in 3d.

It's going to be a ton of work but I love the design and I think it'll be a very fun project. The plan is to make it available in two sizes 50mm which can be used for standard hex based games, and a larger 90mm tall version that'd be useable for N-scale games alongside 15mm scaled infantry.
The various weapon parts shown will be options for the kit and I will try and make them available seperately as well. I'm thinking for the large version I will have it made with pre-sized holes on the weapon mounts so that it will be ready to go for rare earth super magnets. That'll save everybody the time and effort of drilling out holes to mount the magnets and also help avoid alignment issues created by trying to do the work by hand.
As there are a lot of details to add I expect the model to take a while, probably 2-3 months at minimum before I have a printable model finished.
